What we’ve been asked to look at
凤凰体育网址The Australian Government has asked the Commission to conduct a study to examine regulations affecting business investment in the resources sector in Australia. The study will identify effective regulatory approaches, highlight examples of best practice regulation in Australia and internationally, and examine where successful relationships have been developed between the resources sector and the communities in which resources companies operate.

Issues paper release and initial submissions
The Commission has released an issues paper to guide people in preparing a submission. It sets out some of the issues and questions the Commission has identified as relevant at this early stage of the study. Participants should provide evidence to support their views, including data and specific examples where possible.
Initial submissions were due by 31 October 2019.
Draft report release
凤凰体育网址The draft report for the study was released on 24 March 2020.
With study participants focused on COVID-19 responses, consultation on the draft report has been deferred and study timelines — including the closing date for receipt of submissions — extended to ensure opportunity to provide input.

Final report to Government and release
The final study report is to be handed to the Australian Government in November 2020 and released shortly after.
